The answer to yesterday's quiz was (b) whether.

Did you get it right? If and whether are sometimes interchangeable, but there are times when you can only use one or the other. Before an infinitive, as in this sentence 'to go', we can only use 'whether', not 'if'. You can find out more here: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/…/british-gra…/if-or-whether

어제 퀴즈의 정답은 (d) to have been stolen입니다.

The answer to yesterday's quiz was (d) thought to have been stolen. Did you get it right?

When we are reporting in the passive using verbs like believe, think, claim, report etc. then the verb that follows must be in the infinitive. For example:
- It is believed to be the most valuable painting in the world.
- He is believed to own more than ten houses.
But when we are reporting something in the past we use the perfect infinitive (to have + past participle):
- He is believed to have sold all his property.

This quiz was tricky though, because the reported clause is also passive - '$1 million was stolen', not 'robbers stole $1 million. So here we have to use the passive form of the infinitive - 'to have been + past participle'.
